Seth Standley has shown a ton of speed throughout the 2017 race season at the Cycleland Speedway. He now has 13 Fast Times and 2 Main Event Victories in the Standley Bros. Hot Rods #25 Box Stock.
When the Green Flag flew on the 20 Lap Main Event it was polesitter Hank Simmons who would quickly jump out front. Simmons is putting together his best season yet in the Box Stock Class. He would lead for the first eight laps of the Main Event before Seth Standley was finally able to make the move past to take the lead. From then on, it was all about the #25 kart as he pulled away to pick up his second win of the 2017 race season. Rylinn Renaud mounted a late race charge to get up into the second position. It was a big move for Renaud to go from 4th to 2nd in the closing laps as it minimized the points lost to the #25 kart of Standley. Hank Simmons, in arguably the best race of his career, finished in the 3rd position after leading early in the race. Rowdy Gramps came home in the fourth position, giving him seven top five finishes in 2017 now. Luke Hayes finished in the fifth spot for his 12th top five of the season. Seth Standley was the Hard Charger of the Main Event as he charged from the 6th starting position to the front of the field en route to victory.
Rylinn Renaud continues to lead the way in the Box Stock Points Standings. Seth Standley though chopped into the lead a little bit this week by way of setting Fast Time yet again in Time Trials and winning the Main Event. Standley now sits just 31 markers behind Renaud as we move into the final five races of the 2017 season. Rowdy Gramps currently sits a distant third in the standings, as he sits 270 points behind the leader Renaud. Jennifer Osborne is fourth in the standings at 341 points behind the leader. While Hank Simmons continues to close in on Osborne for fourth in the standings. Simmons is now fifth, at 363 points behind Renaud for the top spot.
We will be back in action at the Cycleland Speedway this Saturday night, August 5th for Points Race #15 of the 2017 race season. Hot Laps for the Open Karts are scheduled to hit the track at 5:30 with qualifying for all divisions to follow immediately.
