Seth Standley Breaks Through for First Career Win at Cycleland

In 2017, Rylinn Renaud has dominated Main Event competition. He has 10 Main Event wins this season and at times has looked unstoppable. Last weekend though it was another young driver having a breakout season that got the win. Seth Standley has been having a solid season but had yet to break into victory lane at Cycleland.

That changed on Saturday night as he dominated the 20 Lap Main Event en route to his first career victory at the Cycleland Speedway. Standley had set Fast Time in Qualifying in every event the first 11 races of the season. Saturday though he timed in 3rd quick and from there he and the crew were able to make all of the right changes as he would also dominate the Trophy Dash as well. Luke Hayes continued his stellar Rookie season in the Box Stock Class. In 11 starts now, Hayes has 11 Top Five finishes as he crossed the line in the second position. Jackson O’Ferrall made his first start of the season a good one as he picked up a third-place finish. Rylinn Renaud got tangled up in a first lap accident and was never able to recover as he would settle for a fourth-place run. Eric Botelho would cross the line in fifth, rounding out the top five. Seth Standley was also the Hard Charger of the night in the Box Stock Class as he started the race in the fifth position and charged to the lead on the opening lap passing four cars in the process.

The Points Standings after Points Race #12 tightened up a bit, and we have a good points battle on our hands in the second half of the season. Rylinn Renaud is still the Points Leader but Seth Standley closed in a bit on Saturday night and now sits just 31 markers behind Renaud in the standings. Rowdy Gramps is third in points but he is 226 points out of the top spot. Jennifer Osborne sits fourth exactly 300 points behind Renaud. Hank Simmons currently hangs on to the fifth spot in the standings as he sits 333 points behind the top spot.

Points Race #13 is on tap this Saturday night, July 22nd, 2017. Hot Laps for the Open cars are scheduled to hit the track at 5:30 PM. That will be followed immediately by Qualifying for all classes.
